Calendars On My Page
Today by Lois
A wonderful note from a reader,
THANK YOU!
Absolutely
beautiful - you have given us all some lovely images to digest. I have
never visited any other website that is presented in such an
eye-pleasing manner. You offer a bit of everything from lovely
pictures, thoughtful verses, good recipes and dear old Maxine - you just
can't beat 'her' thoughts and sarcasm. You have the very best website
I have ever visited. Variety and good taste in presentation cannot be
beat - and you give us that daily!! Thank you so much for making my day
- each day!!
Today purge your mind of all junk food.
Avoid people who minimize your value.
Nourish your mind with a steady diet of healing
thoughts and the company of affirming people.
Give up the urge to snatch the controls of your life,
even when it is working. Remind yourself that it is running
smoothly because of your faith.
We are the wire, God is the current. Our only power is
to let the current pass through us.
~ Carlo Carretto
Today tackle only the things that demand resolution
now. Tomorrow deal with tomorrow. Next week is when
you need to think about next week.

Perfect Piecrust
Pie, brought over with the earliest settlers from England,
has become an American institution.
Follow these tried-and-true tips to make
perfect piecrust.
• For a flaky, tender piecrust, make sure that all of the ingredients and utensils are cold.
• For the best-tasting crust, use butter, preferably unsalted.
• Try to use fresh fruit whenever possible, but especially when baking with apples. See Best Apples for Baking chart.
• Add 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice to your fruit filling to bring out the taste of the fruit and help it keep its color.
